BETHESDA, MD – July 23, 2009 – The Car Care Council has received the top Grand Award for it’s CarCare.org Web site from the 2009 Awards for Publication Excellence (APEX), an international competition for writers, editors, publications staff and business and nonprofit communicators.
Judges described CarCare.org as, “Striking visuals and interactive graphics reinforce the well organized copy – all framed in an easy-to-navigate format. Awards are based on excellence in graphic design, quality of editorial content and the success of the entry in conveying the message and achieving overall communications effectiveness.”
CarCare.org was created as an information portal for consumers, industry professionals and media, a core element of the “Be Car Care Aware” consumer education campaign. The site was recently redesigned to be more user-friendly and to incorporate new features including a digital Car Care Guide, video Car Care Minute, an interactive flash.
“We are delighted that the Car Care Council Web site was selected as the very best Web site from among 267 other sites,” said Rich White, Car Care Council executive director and senior vice president of marketing for the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association (AAIA). “This is the second international award the council has received for its Web site in the past two months.”
